017.jpg 018.jpg 019.jpg In a fit of boredom I was going through my collection and came across this specimen that I found a while back. I've always thought it was a track but I'm not sure. It's small only about 1 inch and is in a piece of sandstone/ shale that is only about 1/4 inch thick. I'm posting two pics of the front and one of the back that shows how it is depressed through the shale. I'm sure it is Fort Union formation from central Montana. It doesn't look like other bird tracks I have found and came from a different location. It has long toes three of which show well but seems to have another one or two in the back. Any ideas?

It still looks like a small bird footprint that has been partly obscured.
Still a really nice find.

Well it looks like everyone is in agreement so I'll christen it "THE CAVE ROBIN". Good hunting everyone.
