Just recovered in my yard where I've found buttons dating to the 1760's this just came from almost a foot deep. It barely rang at first but now that it's out it's a solid 82 on the at pro and it looks gorgeous! Any info is GREATLY appreciated. Not sure if its as old as you hope but its brass & probably had a iron/steel pin. Went on horses & dates to the late 19th C, maybe into the 20th.
