There's really nothing observable to suggest that it's an egg fossil and it doesn't even have a particular shape consistent with it being an egg. Just a rounded knobbly piece of something quartz-rich.

Just looks like quartz to me. I've seen lots of rocks like that in my state in the mountains. I could be wrong though as I don't know much about rocks.
