It Ain't Over, Till It's Frozen Over

Hunted a lake this afternoon, one that's been just pounded to death, even with some PI detectors. A soft signal got me a penny about 14" deep, and it is unreadable on both sides, and thick as about 3 sheets of paper. I also found a chain with a .925 sandal attached. I severed the chain in half retrieving it. No problem......I just went back and quickly found the other half. The spent gun shells were found near by in the woods.

Those pounded to death spots prove to be the most challenging and sometimes have the best finds. It feels like more of an accomplishment when you find stuff at those spots.

Frozen over is right. I remember shopping coins out of frozen ground when the snow was deep. It was either that or follow wife into shoe stores. A slow death...
