I metal detected the neighbors yard today. I went by the side of his house again for a second time and found a few pennies.
I found the cross on a hillside next to what looked like a burning pile. I dug down maybe 5" for this cross. It seems silver but there's no markings besides the " Jesus Christ is Lord"found on the cross. ;D

The signal was a penny- dime which could be siver or copper. :-*

Alll in all I had a fun time on the hunt and I may make a frame with some of the finds in it to show I can find good things. :-[

Nice little cross. But, I'm sorry to say, it isn't silver. I've found several of them over the last few years, and they are all aluminum. What is different about them, is that none of the ones that I've found had the same thing printed on them.

Here's a picture of one I found a couple of days ago. As you can see, it's pretty close to yours.

These crosses are what is referred to as a "cross in your pocket" At church camp back in the 70's after the speaker spoke about Jesus he handed these out to everyone. It was a reminder that every time you reached into your pocket for some change and pulled out the cross that you would reflect on what Jesus did for us on the cross! Yes, they are aluminum and how fitting that you found it at this time of year so close to Easter!!!
