It's old. It's large. It's $.01 but it's not American!

Went to my ATV trails again with the idea to search the area where the tennis playing geisha girls necklace was found to see if I can get more parts to it. I figured since the charms are small maybe there is iron around it that I was discriminating out and masked them. Well I did find iron near it but no more parts to the necklace.
Went to a section of the trails where I got some relics and started discriminating iron out again since it is all over the place. Even came out with 2 square nails that are perfectly preserved as if they were dropped yesterday. Got a good signal that was penny to dime each time I swung so I dug naturally. DOn't know what it was but it was a rusted rectangular piece of metal. Time was getting close to leaving so I went a little bit more into the brush and got another penny/dime signal. Naturally had to dig again even though it could have been another piece of rusted metal. Well I was happy when I saw that circular coin pop out in the dirt that I dug up. Was about 4 incehs down. The size made me think I had another large cent and after cleaning it, I actually did but it is from Great Britian, not America. What I managed to pull out was an 1862 one penny with Queen Victoria on the front. I don't know why it was there in NY State but I'm happy to have dug up another old coin from my site.
That makes an 1842 large cent, an 1853 large cent, this 1862 British one penny, and an 1897 indian head. There has to be more to find and I'm gonna look for them.

Thanks for looking and HH

That a Young Head Victorian penny. Pretty cool to find it where you did. Those are bronze and that one looks like it's not in bad shape after being in the ground all those years. Nice find.

thanks all. I don't think my scanner does it justice though. The coin looks a hell of a lot better than the pics show. Might have to tweak the software a little.
