It's ugly but its #50 for the year

Went out for about 3 hrs this afternoon. Afer 2 hrs. I had 2 wheats and a memorial penny. Then I got a 45 Merc. About 30 min later I got a real iffy signal but decided to dig it anyway. Took the plug out scaned the hole again got a real good silver signal. dug down another 4 in. and pull out a 35 Merc. It's ugly but it is silver #50 for the year. Last night I went to the local Jr High. Got a silver ring and $4.63 in clad.

Well, all you guys are WAY ahead of me this year. That's OK. I just got my new detector, and am breaking it in by looking for a gold coin cache from an early 1900's coin collector. I may be envious of your Mercs now, but I have something to look foward to...

Nice on the mercs ! You can safely clean the mercs (or any silver for that matter) by simply
immersing them for a few minutes in a product called Tarn.X - there is no abrasion , or
rubbing to degrade your surfaces , and I just used it on two mint state Peace dollars - that
had some very objectionable tarnish (like your dimes ) In two minutes it removed the blackish,
tarnish , and most importantly , in no way was the mint luster diminished or degraded or changed.
I was absolutely blown away by the results ! I tend to be very serious about conserving the
original surfaces when it comes to coins - and I would recommend this product to the most
serious coin collector . Argentium.
