Let me start by telling you Tnet friends, that this was the craziest hunt I've ever had.
An empty lot next to a 1925 house loaded with trash, and trees....roots everywhere.
I didn't expect to find...MY OLDEST COIN EVER!!!
As best as I can tell, it's an 1869 Egyptian, Ottoman Empire, 10 Para coin.
So, onto the relics...not much, but the best were the Junior Police badge, and a service medal from Detroit...Bureau of Public Safety... awarded for a "Meritorious Safety Act" presented by the police department....FANTASTIC!!!
Oh yea, the gen pin thingy....it's a souvenir from the Omaha, Nebraska stockyard....O.K. .....?
So, onto my coins.... never have I had a hunt, where I didn't find a nickel, dime, or quarter.
Only 4 clad cents....the rest, all wheats!....
But wait, there's more.....
Half of them were clipped, edged off, or grinded down....to these cute little mini wheats.
All but a few have a date, nothing key...but one of the clipped ones has a date of 191?....bummer. Also, a 1920 flattened by a train.
While I'm at it, here's a pic of trash, cuz some of you guys are into that.
I didn't do their backyard, or front...as the permission was for the side lot they owned, but since they weren't home, I held off until I get the ok for that another time.
Thanks for looking!
