Terry...that's hilarious...thanks!

maybe...lol. why mention that you do it for a living? and "trophy" collection?

Easy there young fellow....

Hoping you're joking, and if so, please apologize to Herb (Gold Tramp), as he felt
you were serious.

Herb is the real deal. He's got more hard rock mining knowledge in his little
finger than you or I will ever know. He's raised a fine family, and works hard
every day to support them.

Your 14, and if you could spend a couple months working with him you'd leave
with more mining knowledge than you'll gain on this board in a decade. I'll back
you up (and have, when needed) as I think you're a sharp young man
with a great future.

That said, I count Herb as a friend (of which I have very few) and will not respond
kindly if he is being given a bad time by someone who doesn't (yet) know the effort
it takes to be a "Class A" miner. Herb is to be respected, not given a bad time.

'Nuff said.

I have found gold in 3 minutes.

One time I got out of the truck and turned the detector on and swung it once after ground balancing it and instantly got a good signal on the top of a road cut bank.
Found a nice 15 grain placer nugget. Really wasn't expecting to find anything but trash since there were no obvious signs of high channel or past mining.
What luck.

Is this normal around here...the whining and bickering I mean?

Gold don't care who scratches it out of hiding

A mentor respected would sure speed up acquiring some though if starting out.
That said, there's lots of dust around me here, just not Gold.

Mytimetoshine is on "vacation". FYI, after a mod or in this case two mods have requested several times to post by our rules and stop insulting members it isn't wise to continue to insult members.

Herb is the real deal, and after serving our country for many years, he
decided to go mining. He's got more hard rock mining knowledge in his little
finger than you or I will ever know. He's raised a fine family, and works hard
every day to support them.

Your 14, and if you could spend a couple months working with him you'd leave

Isn't the first set of pics the Boot of Cortez at the Arizona gem show? John

The Boot of Cortez when it was sold to the original American owners. NICE!

Back in the old days, anyone who wanted to "be someone" called themselves Colonel such-and-such. ...I think you got demoted! :laughing9:

...Thought I better add: this was intended SOLELY as a ribbing joke. Absolutely NO offense was or will be intended!

I, too, have been curious about the Cpt., but you gotta admit it looks sorta Formal next to the US Flag.

Jaw dropping awesome and a once in a lifetime find IF your blessed that is..I can only still hope my coil hits one like that, till then I'll just keep on a swingn'. I've now got 60 years of mining/prospecting under my belt but finding pounds of placer does compare to that SIZE :notworthy:-John
