How can he state that Laf has "solved", correctly or not, the Beale ciphers without ever seeing them?
Laf has solidly stated over and over on these TN Beale threads that NO ONE, which would include M Poe, has ever seen this claimed "solution".

In reality this is pretty much what the unknown author has offered his readers, it's just that instead of unidentified numbers here we have unidentified dots. In either case they can become whatever the hopeful decoder desires them to be. Nice play, great example, and accurate too.

But if each of the dots before you are placed in the proper place they would make a picture. This is that we seek! I suggest to you, work with that which you are trained and I will work with the ciphers.

As you continue to study and learn about ciphers and the Beale mystery and as you continue to gain that knowledge your perspective on many things will change. Right now you're just scratching the surface and running with the torch of another's igniting, but sooner or later that flame will fade just like so many before it due to the lack of oxygen and fuel.
