jamesandson's CRH Log

I am currently very low-volume; a few boxes a week. Until I open another bank account and get more comfortable dumping coins, it is likely to stay that way.

5/21: $200 bank-wrapped dimes, $100 bank-wrapped nickels.
Nickels: 29 pre-1960, 1 Canadian (1996), no silver. No 2009. One flattened Lincoln cent.
Dimes: no silver. 5 2009-D, 1 2009-P.

Dime totals: $940 searched (including a 2013 skunk box), 6 silver Roosies.

Nice finds jamesandsons!

$40 in bank-wrapped nickels today.

1 2009-P (my first 2009 nickel), 14 pre-1960... including my first war nickel, a 45-P!

Searched $400 more in dimes - a Loomis box plus $150 in mixed Loomis & bank-wrapped rolls.

-no silver :(
-4 2009-D
-2 Canadian (1980, 2002)
-1 British five pence (2005)

New dime totals: $1340 searched (including a 2013 skunk box), 6 silver Roosies.

Loomis nickel box:
1937 Buffalo, surprisingly nice condition (I expected my first one to be dateless, but this one is pretty sharp, somewhere well north of Fine).
1944-P
1945-P
12 other 1939-1949
15 1950-1959
No Canadian
No 2009

String and Sons nickel box:

1942-S
7 other pre-1950
19 pre-1960s.
1 2009-D
5 Canadian
1 Bermuda

Another dime box, another skunk. No silver in my last $1100, except for the two Roosies I got from the teller tray yesterday. Dimes are REALLY BORING when you go that long without any silver.

3 2009-D
1 2009-P

New dime totals: $1590 searched (including a 2013 skunk box), 6 silver Roosies.

I'm gonna lay off the dimes at least until mid-week next week. I have a box of nickels and am getting 2 boxes of $.01's tomorrow.

Of course I couldn't stick to that - picked up $100 in dimes today just because. And I ended my $1100 skunk streak with a 1953-D.
-1953-D
3 2009-D
1 2009-P

New dime totals: $1690 searched, 7 Roosies.

$60 bank-wrapped nickels:

03 - 1939
11 - 1940-49
15 - 1950-59
02 - Canadian

Oh and I found 4 nice Israeli sheckels (a 5, 1, and two 1/2s) in the cold-air return of my son's bedroom while doing a flooring project last night. They are my wife's from when she spent a summer nannying in Israel before we got married. Kid must've jammed them down there years ago.

(C)old air (R)eturn (H)unting. Never know what you might find.

Nice log. I found a few shekels searching CWR of nickels a while back. HH

Weekend nickel box:
-1945-S
-Dateless buffalo (my son opened this roll, his first buffalo)
-16 pre-1960, including two surprisingly bright 59s and a 56 (maybe they've been cleaned)
-3 Canadian
A 1964 that has been engraved with some sort of weird anarcho-freemason symbol or something.

Man, I'm still looking for a nice. 2013-D dime. All I find around here are Ps.

$100 nickel box:
-1943-P (in the 49th roll!!)
Also got a half-dozen or so BU-looking coins from the 80s and 90s. I'm guessing someone popped them out of an album. I probably missed a few, because I don't usually look too closely at those dates. But I kept the ones I did find... I've rarely seen older stuff in that quality out of rolls before.

$200 in dime rolls:

-1963-D
-1912 - my first old dime! (Worn thinner than a washer, but I'm not gonna throw it back)
-2009-D (3)

New dime totals: $1990 searched, 8 Roosies, 1 Barber.

Can't wait to find my first Barber Dime...

Got skunked on $80 in halves. I've been buying whatever the teller has in the tray, and this teller told me she had $80 worth in the vault, so I bought them for the heck of it, even though I keep telling myself I'm not gonna do halves. I found 3 marked ones out of 160.

I'm mid-way through a great box of cents right now - found a 1916-S and a 1919 so far, along with 6 other wheats. I have 2 other cent boxes and 2 nickel boxes to open this weekend. Much more than I usually can get through in a weekend, so we'll see how far I get.
