Hi everyone.

I'm currently working on a complete BU set of the Jefferson Profile Series (1938-2003). This is a great set to put together as every year and mint is still affordable in uncirculated condition. As of now my only requirements are for the coin to be BU+, visually appealing, and at least have partial steps. Lately I've only been buying full steps when I can find them at reasonable prices. I originally wanted to have a complete set with full steps but quickly found it to be difficult. Many years/mints just don't seem to have been struck good and the only examples I could find were slabbed and very expensive. Can't put slabbed coins in fancy album either!

Basically, I'm trying to have as high end of a set as possible without breaking the bank.

Is it even possible to have a complete set with full steps? How much do you think the values will increase in 20-30 years? This thread is all about Jefferson nickels and I'm looking for all your thoughts and opinions. Thanks!

I put together a set 35 years ago and it was impossible even then to find them all with 6 steps. Some years are easy, like the '38's since the dies were all brand new that year. Others like the '54D or S (I can't remember which) are very difficult to find (and expensive) with only 4 steps.
