So I've had this coin for a while now and I'm wondering if its worth anything. It's pretty beat up so I don't intend to sell it just looking for what it is mainly. The diameter is about 1 1/4"

UPDATE: Does NOT stick to a magnet if that helps

Well first it's not a coin, it's a token. Some one that knows tokens will be on in a bit.

It is an Indian peace medal. They were made for presentation to Indians as a token of peace and friendship. When the president changed, new medals were designed. I am pretty sure they have been restruck though, so no idea if it is an original, some searching may turn up ways to tell if it is.

There were dozens, if not hundreds, of designs that were privately, and by government contract, made to commemorate both the centennial and bicentennial of Jefferson ascending to the presidency. While the design looks familiar, I have yet to find one that actually matches.

Finally coffee!
