Howdy all,
I was supposed to be busy today, and unable to hunt. Well the phone rings at 8:00 am and suddenly I have the whole day. So I start out at the field that kicked loose the last 10k gold ring. After 2 hours I get nothin but clad and trash. So I get the wild hair to take a road trip and see good ole Vanoldschool. We meet up on his side of the bridge and head to an elementary field we both have wanted to hunt. I was gettin a bit of clad and trash but nothin good. So I start workin toward Van and get a good high hit. Its wasn't deep so I pinpoint with the pro-pointer and lift the turf to expose a nice silver ring. I call Van over and he says he ain't surprised. So we work this field a bit more with no more keepers to show. So we hit the road to another field. This field I have hunted before but not for a couple years. It has kicked loose lotsa gold in the past and silver as well. 3rd target into the field and bam. I again lift the turf back and see a ring. It was shallow enough to still be in the roots. I again call Van over and we speculate if its gold or not. I figure due to the low vdi that its probably gold. Van agrees, and I pluck it free. Sure enough its 18k. After a bit more hunting and a few more junk rings we call it good. Van got his awesome token at the end of the hunt on the way to the car. I got a pic of him swingin his XLT across the field. It was already a good day. But since I still had daylight and wasn't ready to call it quits. Off I went again. This time to my gold field. This field has been more than good to me in the last week or so. I almost didn't hunt it due to the amount of people walking the track with their kids. As soon as I started recovering targets I get the normal idiotic remarks. Like " If ya find a million bucks I get half" Or " If ya find a diamond ring I lost it". So I figure my hunt will be short tonight just to avoid the meatheads. Right as I was talkin myself into leavin, and how good supper was goin to taste.I get a good tone. I reach in and feel what I think is junk. I pull it out and feel somethin give. I look in my hand and see gold. Immediately I know I broke the chain. So I begin the tedious job of freein the chain from the soil. Well turns out I didn't break the chain just the charm clasp. I snap a quick pic and head to the car. The whole way home I was hopin it was real, and I was right. Its marked 18k, and 750 and acid tested good at 18k. So my day was awesome. Sorry for the long post, but I am still excited. Thanks for lookin and luck in the hunt.

Juju,

I have seen you around quite a bit lately. I don't normally post on here. Always on the White's forum as I own the MXT300. Man are you H-O-T!!!! That must be some magic soil you guys have over there in your parts :) Maybe you should consider selling big buckets of dirt on the internet. With all those SUPER finds you've been making, I'm sure you'll have a LOT of takers.

BTW, are you using your MXT to find all these rings??? If so, what VDI's are your rings coming in at and at what depth?

Anyways, really enjoying seeing your posts. Gives us mere mortals some inspiration. Oh yeah, if that dirt idea doesn't strike your fancy, consider putting together detecting tours to your hunting spots. You've heard of Perillo Tours? Well, JuJu Tours sounds just as nice. Maybe then we could all share in this jewelry-rush your on :) CONGRATS BUDDY!

P.S. - My dad was a B-I-G tattoo lover. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Does the name Tony Ippolito ring a bell? He was "the" guy for tat work in the 70's, 80's & 90's in our parts. Did all my dad's ink.

NOW....NOW you are talking about camping out in the GOLD field.....I seem to remember a very smart guy - ME - suggesting
that very thing last week.....before your last OUT OF SIGHT finds.
Forget the tours, or selling dirt.....too much work. Just, have a JU-JU shop at the airport.....all I want to do is
fly in and TOUCH YOU....then get back on the plane, and work some of the hills here. :help:
Great great finds, guy. The rings and bracelets and all the gold stuff are not banner........
YOU BE THE BANNER. :headbang: :headbang:

Thanks Digger. I am using my MXT. I keep my Disc. just barely above 1, and dig everything above iron. The areas I am hunting are sports fields and are not super trashed in. As long as the target is repeatable with no iron bounce I dig it. The common misconception is that gold sits in the pulltab range. Most gold hits well below pulltab or nickel which would be 18 to 31 vdi. The average gold ring or pendant will hit at an 8 to 12vdi. Unless of course its a monster. Most of what I find is from surface to 4 inches. I use my Garrett Pro-Pointer to surface locate most targets that are less than 3 inches deep. This way most of the time all I have to do is lift the turf instead of diggin a complete plug. I see a lot of people hunt strictly for high tones tryin to get that silver. All this means is I find less silver in these fields and more gold. You will dig a bucket full of trash before you get gold but its worth it. Hope this helps.
