I am thinking this is a VICs bottle by the Vs all around it and the mark on the bottom. Would anyone know about the year? And there was a piece of wire around the top but I think that was incidental to where I found it.

A Vicks product would be a good guess, and you're right, the wire is unrelated, there would have been a screw cap. I'd date it to somewhere between 1940 and 1955.

Go get some more!

I'd think something like their cough syrup or Nyquil in that form, but those didn't come out until the 50's & 60's...
