Hit the soccer fields today to find 7 quarters (3 nearly silver-1965s) lol, 12 dimes, 2 nickels, 14 pennies, an old Winchester NO. 12 Repeater shot shell head circa 1896-1938, a swivel clasp of some kind?, and what I believe to be an old mishapen musket ball? 003.JPG 010.JPG 012.JPG 008.JPG

You didnt "just miss" silver. There are still millions of 1965 dimes and quarters in circulation. Someone dropping one isn't any closer to it being silver than if they dropped a 2015 quarter.

If you are looking for silver, you should research the history of that spot to see if there was anything there back when silver coins were still in circulation.

I also feel like you do when I dig a 65 coin. I know I shouldn't feel that way ...but I just can't help it. I kind of chuckle a little after checking the coin and see that it is a 65. Looks like you had a nice hunt.
