Just ordered a bag of Ikes

Took me a while to find a bank that was not only capable of ordering them, but willing to order them. They should arrive either next Friday or the Tuesday after that, they'll call me when they come in. Not giving up the name of the bank nor the company that is delivering them, sorry! I'll post results (and photos) in this thread when I get the bag. It should be $1000.

I hope it wasn't a fluke. I have been imagining that the next bag will be better because it will be deeper in the storage vault. My friend took 9, I kept 8. Next time, I'll take some pics, but I've added them all to albums. I kept the 2005 and 1998 Eagles, a 1986 Statue of Liberty comm, a 22 Peace dollar, 71 blue ike, 76 Bi Ike, 1880 and 1921 Morgans. Not I am not this person you referred to.

What year and type was the taler? It could have A LOT of value.

The Taler was dated 1780, but it is my understanding that they were minted into the mid 80's.

Fun coins, made from 1780-today, there are a couple of minor die varieties that can help date the coin, but the vast majority of these coins are modern. Still a fun coin with raised edge lettering, I've got a couple and keep one as a pocket piece.

As for value, it generally just sells for scrap silver unless you've got a rare/old variety.

Agree, who cares, it's foreign. I found out today that I can only get two $1000 bags. That's all they have. So today I have been searching for another source of Ikes. I hope I never have to switch to pennies.
