Looks like older pieces, the pot was encased in a fiber net? Try posting over on the North American Indian artifact forum.

Woodland period, chord marked, Native American clay pottery. Close to or more than 1000 years old. Very tribal! Lots more to find there too. GL

Your likely on a site that has several generations of Indians. Near a river with lots of tree's? A good place to metal detect too. Early Europeans seemed to like these spots too. Intermingled with trade & war. A sweet looking site. Congrats
