After all the hard rain we have had last month I thought I would search a road ditch that runs thru a hollow the banks are steep. During the Civil War there was a skirmish in this hollow I have found a few minie balls in the ditch. Did not find anything in the ditch but trash I did find these two twin flat buttons in a dirt pile next to a cemetery I Can't read the backmark I know it says and son's London would like to know time period

Wow, great finds, congrats! The imagery on the button "kinda" looks like a memorial wreath on a tripod. Maybe mourning buttons? Sub 8-)

Interesting buttons. At first I thought they were Masonic. Hope you get an ID.
