UPDATE: it's an 1806/07 KG3.
I'm studying for a captains exam for a license upgrade and needed a break. I finally went to a spot along a former colonial road that was the entrance to a farm 200 yeas ago. Problem is it's mostly a parking lot. I did a maps overlay during the cold cold winter and had the farm driveway figured, so I started there. Scored a 1903 IHP quickly. Then, in a 20' wide patch separating parking lots I get a 12-45/44 at 6". Hit a root (always my favorite sign) and dug around. Out popped a half penny sized disk ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1435421812.707630.jpg

Woohoo! I guess there was a colonial farm here! Even though it's toasted it feels good to have research nail down a spot. I've had about a half dozen potential spots flop so far this year. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1435422075.443599.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1435422094.917270.jpg
The first of the last two pics has Brittania clearly visible , but that's all I got.
Happy hunts

Steve

Looks like a later KG, perhaps 1800s KGIII?

Great finds. Indian Heads are always great and Colonial is even better.

I have a question. How do you do the overlays and where do you get the early maps??

I have a bunch of spots in my area I would love to try something like that with.

I'd check the diameter against the 1799 halfpenny as well as the 1806/07.

Yep, you're spot on with the 06/07. 29mm. The small head I can see holding the coin in the light sealed the deal. Ok, 1806/1807 KG3.

Thanks IP.

It's funny I find almost all half pennies, never farthings, or silver ones!
