Always remember to Check that the Coffee Pot is on :(

sat here 20 Minutes waiting for my Coffee to be Done & Nice & Hot.

Just ran over Contemplating a Nice delicious Cup :coffee2:

no Weight to the coffee decanter, was Empty :sadsmiley: was Plugged in. :icon_scratch:

But switch was turned off ???

That's why instant coffee and the microwave oven was invented.
It's an acquired taste but worth the effort.

Actually there is some pretty decent instant coffee out there if you look around.
The little packets of Starbucks breakfast blend are not bad.
Expensive.

I keep a jar of Folgers freeze dried coffee in my desk drawer just in case.
It works to wake you up.

I love dark black coffee, and only the best if freshly baked beans. Nowadays I get the beans from a vendor at the local farmer's market. I grind them fresh and enjoy just one cup a day = keeps my heart from exploding!

Edit: I'm a coffee common sewer, can't stand the taste of instant, and lean towards Starbucks whole Dark Beans when the farmer's market is out of season here.

I Never Tried the Whole Beans Coffee.
Would require buying a Grinder.

My Coffee Costs $19.95 a Pound & I Use the same amount of Grounds for 1 Cup,
That I used to use for a Fill 10 Cup Pot.

Black of Course. Putting milk in Coffee is blasphemous imo !

I've been drinking 2 to 3 Cups every 24 Hour Period.
Needless to Say, Sleeping Don't come Easy.

Hmmm Good song I Forgot about

at least you remembered why and what you were going to do. I can forget five feet from the pot and have to stand there for a bit as I try to retrace my steps. My dad hunted all over the house trying to find his favorite coffee cup and finally gave up and used another cup. A couple of hours later, he found it in the microwave where he put it to warm it up in earlier. it was cold again.

When I walk to do something & Forget What Half way there,
I Swear out loud to Myself, Then try to remember where I Was & What I Was doing that Made me Want to Go where I Did :laughing7: Works occasionally.

It all comes back Eventually !
Short term memory, Useless at times

Jeff my friend, grinders are actually pretty cheap,

And it lends to a dimension your should someday explore = INCREDIBLE difference in taste.

And we do love our good coffee :)

Like I said the instant is an acquired taste..meaning it sucks ass till you drink enough of it.
Then it's comforting and wakes you up like all coffee.

I perk my coffee out of a pot my dad bought from an old lady at a yard sale. It was on the table where you pay and he asked if it was for sale. She said it was full of hot coffe but for $5 it was his. Said she had used it everyday for the last 40 years. Her husband died and she had no use for it any more. Propane stove works the best.

Black.

Yep. Agreed. We went from the cheap little blade style "grinders" to a real burr mill grinder.

They have off switches!?!?!? Thanks for the heads up on that one! I'll have to look for it.:tongue3: Have a little jar of Yuban instant in the cabinet. A little pinch like dip in the cheek makes 20 min fly.

Jeff, 2-3 cups a day is pretty typical I think for a coffee drinker.
My grandparents generation always had a pot of very strong coffee on the stove.
You could always count on several offers.

When I was a kid I didn't drink coffee. Wish I had.
Probably missed out on a bunch of conversation.
That generation was very welcoming and hospitable.

When I was a Kid I used to Love smelling the Peculator Perking out a
Fresh pot of Coffee in the Morning. I Didn't Drink Coffee till I was in My teens Though.

I Sort of Always hated the First Sip, & 99% of My personally Cooked Coffee.

I Could never get the Recipe Right.

I Drank Maxwell House for as long as I Can remember,
Up until the Price of Coffee Broke $5.00 on a 2 Pound Can.
Then I Switched to Generic.

This is going to sound like a Commercial :tongue3:
But one day here at the Computer I Decided to Search for Stronger Coffee,
And Found Death wish. Supposedly Worlds Strongest.

Which by the way is $40. for 2 Pounds Worth :icon_scratch:
& I Used to complain about $5. but
after Trying it, I Immediately got Addicted.

Totally Different Coffee Taste, And only Difference,
I use the same amount of Grounds To make a Cup,
as I did for a Full Pot. 1/2 Cup Grounds to a coffee Cup worth of Coffee

And almost every Cup is delicious to me.
except when I screw up.

as I Said Before, I Never order coffee in a restaurant anymore.
And I Used to Sit all Night Drinking Truck Stop Coffee, after work,
then Come Home & Pass Out

I remember the first time I tasted fresh ground whole bean coffee - about 1974 my father came home with a bag of Jamaica Blue Mountain - We had a glass decanter and cone filter , best coffee I had ever tasted . Now I typically buy ground French roast , or other dark roast coffees , takes me about 4 cups in the morning to really get going . I can drink coffee before bed with no trouble sleeping .
