here are some bone knife handles
first has a copper blade that I found

second one had a steel blade that has rusted away

third is kfr that I tried to put together and did a crappy job

I found quite a few of these handles but they are usually broke from being run over by a tractor
(I'm kind of ashamed of it)

Oh Man that is nothing to be ashamed of. I have learned so much reading and looking at you post. Its amazing the knifes you have with the steel and copper in them. I imagine it is very rare to find them in any kind of shape. Do you think they held the blade in with pitch or just the pressure of freshly split bone or sinew?? Amazing sir. You did a nice job building yours as well.

that flint one is the one I am ashamed of
the blade is too big
they attatched the flint blades by mostly driving them into the bone handle after the slot was cut wide enuff
alot of them had 2 or 3 small blades mounted end to end
sinew was used very seldom and I think no pitch was used
but I am not positive

Great finds. I don't know where you found them, but they appear to be more of a northern thing. What culture and time period are they from?
