Know what a Union "ear boss" is? Well here's one I found!

I found this about three weeks ago and thought it was a handle to an old dresser or cabinet. Tonight I stumbled across this researching CW buckles on the internet. It's an "ear boss" that was worn on a horses harness. (Union) 100_0074.JPG 100_0076.JPG

It was attached over the loop of the harness just under the horses ear. Pretty cool!

That is a nice one! I've dug one almost exactly like that one in a civil war camp and even though they are "civilian use" they are still considered great finds.

The info I found said it was military? Oh well, either way it's old and cool..........HH!
