I went to my "new" permission where I found the 1888 Indian Head penny. I did a good bit more research on the property and found a map from the 1800's that had a "toll gate" marked where the entrance to the property is. I was finding square nails straight away. After several holes with only nails I finally found this little beauty! This is my first flat button!! Lady Luck was definitely with me!! The back reads "Treble Gilt Colour". I was able to find that it's most likely British made and probably a military button. If anyone has any other information about this type of flat button I'd love to hear it! Cheers and happy hunting!
