If you're serious, I have an Amethyest Mine...That's 20 acs plus 5 acs for a "millsite"!
If you want to set up a building!
It's located up, 7000-8000', in a "Prestine" historic wildlife area!
About 15 miles from a nice town!
Plenty of water, small lakes and springs around/near the mine!

I only have one photo of the area!
It's of the road leading in.
But!
It's on my desk top computer, at the other house!
I'll be down there sometime today and I'll send it to you!
What information would you like?
OH! How about the PRICE?
It's $5500 !
That's because the stones that come out of the mine are of and are in, & on display, in several NM/AZ Museums.
One Museum being the U of NM Mining and Minerals Museum in Soccoro!
Making the stones "Museum" Quality !
They're really nice!
I don't know what the price is for "raw" stones, is right at the moment!
I used to sell them, when I was "mining" to a "buyer" (company) in Ca.!
But! I haven't done so for awhile!
I have been trading them to a friend of mine in SW China!

You'll be buying a "mine" that is located in A US National Forest!
It is NOT! Private land until it is worked by the owner for 5 yrs!
The Claim itself is 20 acs.
The Mill site is 5 acs and can be located anywhere it is convient!
Close to the mine or anywhere the miner chooses to build it!
After five yrs of "working" the mine, if there are still "values" left, the mine can then be "Patented"
"Patented" means, that it is given to the miner, by The US Govt. as Private property

Thanks again cptbil, but my intentions for any land purchases is primarily to be used for growing landscape trees. Although this land intrigued me at first because of the mine, I am not a miner and would shy away from any deal that involved the federal govt. However I'll bet there are plenty of people here that might be interested in such a deal since the price is so affordable. I hope someone will spot our posts and contact you. :)

I'm not THAT! interested in selling the mine!
In Fact!
I have had second thoughts anyhow!
BUT!
I can tell you that land values have gone up, & out of sight in Nev. AZ., and now, NM.!

My bother is a land Broker in Arizona!
He recently bought a part of a "Patented Mine", 5 acs, I think!
Guess what the price was?
$90,000 :o
AND! This land is back in a canyon, on a dirt road !
It's about 15 miles or so, south of Prescott!
BUT! That's nothing,
My long time friend, John, who lives in Gilbert, Az...
Who bought 10acs, yrs back, in the country, for $1,800 an ac.
Had my bother check on his land values!
Guess what the $1,800 an ac is now?

Yep! An unbelievable ...
$300,000 PER AC. !
Makes my $4500 per ac look pretty "Wimpy"! :'(
AH!
But! I am still out in the country, right on the Nueces River!
Lots of big trees
AND!
Got "Coyotes, Wild Boar, Javelina, Deer, etc" roaming in the front, back and side yards! :D
Besides,
He can't shoot tin cans off his fence from his front porch any more!
I CAN! ::)

Well!
I don't need the money!
If I ever did, I would probably, sell my "second" house and the five acs it sits on!
In the "past" I have sold things, only to later REALLY!, regert doing so!
Like my "Flat Fender" '45 CJ that was all OEM !
OR!
My '50 OEM Wagon (Jeep)!w/ "6" cyl engine!
In Fact,
I have still have my '67 Chevy Corvair (44k miles) in the back yard!

Claims on public land can no longer be patented.

A word of caution MD Dog

I know of people who have been trying to "Patent" a mining claim which they have lived and worked on for over twenty years.

Their paper work has been lost several times. As well there has been several moratorium's placed on the filing by either the National Forest Circus (service) and or the BLM over the years.

I also know of another person who bought a "vacation" home on National Forest Circus land.

It is a pristine place nestled in the Mountains near my mining claim.

The land has a nice house, several out buildings, a placer mine and a hard rock mine.

These folks just plopped the cash down and bought the property without researching the requirements set forth by the government as to how they had to use the land to keep it..

One of the requirements for this piece of land required that they had to live on the land and work one of the mine(s) at least 75 percent of the year.

These are city folks who wanted to vacation one or two months out of the year in their little piece of heaven. And they had no clue about mining nor did they have the desire to learn.

They now are now in jeopardy of losing their investment and the use of the property if they cannot fulfill the requirements of the National Forest Service, who will take the land back and destroy the buildings.

So before you jump into something check it out thoroughly, especially if it's on or near Forest Service land
