Hi friends, I acquired this very nice landscape on Saturday. It is very well painted with those lovely blue colors, unfortunately, I can only make out certain characters of the name. For example the first three appear to be "Blo" or "Blau", the last four appear to be "berg', but the in between letters have me stumped! Thanks to all who volunteer to take a guess on it or is familiar with the area. I sincerely appreciate it!

Is it possible Blaue berg is the title and not a signature?

Nice frame but man that is one ugly painting... Just my opinion. If you like it, then that is all that matters.

Thank you very much, GibH! That is a possibility that I will follow up on! I appreciate it!

:) If you think that is ugly, take a look at Mark Rothko's paintings as an example. You would think that a first grader co i kd have done those three color paintings, but incredibly those were sold at auction for millions! Thanks for your feedback. I appreciate it! :)

That is why I am only into art in a small way. I just dont "get it". What makes one painting worth money and another worthless? Thats for someone else to understand.

I haven't really seen an artist title a painting where the signature usually is.

Looking at the sig, I'm not quite sure whether it's Blaue berg or Bloom berg...

It is clearly Blaumberg but not from a listed artist from what I can tell. Enjoy your piece!

I haven't either, but a quick Google image search turned up some very similar images.

I would guess Blauen berg or blaue berg - the blue mountain, subject of the picture rather than the painter. It is a mountain and there is a lot of blue.
