The weather couldn't have been better. I revisited an old ballfield/park where I've had success in the past. Negligible emi permitting a cranked up 800. Found a wheatie within a few swings. The large cent followed. Five more wheats, much clad and a nice early button with an intact shank rounded out the day.
I knew that I'd be going back the next day hoping for another bucket lister.
The following day I chose another line across the field. I wasn't disappointed. A readable 1902 IHP followed by a small silver cross ring, a sterling crucifix in 2 pieces, another load of clad including a sacagawea dollar and then a mangled sterling spoon.
When I got home and got the dirt off the spoon I saw a design visible in the bowl. I straightened it as much as I dared . Google came up with the same image in the first result.
My takeaway:
Dig iffy signals
Crank sensitivity when possible
It's never dug out
Thanks for looking.
