high winds - no viz - rough waters spoiled my early hunt - came away with just 1 silver dime

hopped in car and headed for a spot I have not been to in yrs - place has been hammered for yrs
by locals in Buzzards bay area - I got there right at low tide and knew I would not have long - headed straight out to chin deep
worked a half hour without a signal - thought I was just wasting my time - I then got a faint signal - checked in ID mode and gave a midtone
started scooping - was down bout 1 1/2 feet - ended up being some piece of iron - about a foot away - got a similar signal
thought it was the rest of it - was shocked after digging down another 1 1/2 feet when I saw the large band in bottom of my scoop
next half hr - all I got - got deep small silver ring on way out

Way to squeeze some gold out of a hammered site!

kind of cool - person poured melted lead into scallop shell to make fishing sinker

I like surprises!! Nice Yellow!!

Being conditions are similar here, rings are just so deep the detector can't ID them other then the are just a faint target. And most are surprises...

Better pic of "old gold" band
I have found 2 similar gold bands with shield mark in them at other old beaches not far
from this one - those two had shields with 18 in them - one was from the 1920s
so may have been made/sold by the same jeweler
