I'm going with Tibet, but I'm inclined to think its some type of medal rather than a coin. Nice find either way.

Good source states its a Buddist Prayer token. It is 925. Thanks guys

does not look like silver to me. betting some type of token, rather than a coin. awesome find though!

The writing and the style of the coin appear to be Hindu. I too agree that it doesn't look like silver.

I've found these before, they do make them in sterling silver but 99% of the time people throw in the cheaper ones that are made of 'white metal' a base metal alloy usually made of a combination of tin or zinc sometimes with a silver plating. They are meant to bring wealth or general good fortune to the person who threw it in.

lets hope they also bring wealth to the finder! i should prob do some beach detecting after this storm.
