Got out real early this am before the snow storm hit.

Went back to the spot I was last weekend where I pulled my colonial buckle & crotal bell.
Not much in the finds dept except the drawer pull & what is probably a Heinz 57 tag, as it's aluminum.

As the snow was beginning to start I headed back and hit an area closer to my car. Wandered around for a bit along some stonewalls and got a decent signal, please et it be a colonial copper. BINGO! :headbang: Got my 1st State copper this season as well as my 1st since 2010. This is my 3rd NJ I've found.

Tried to take a pic but the camera's battery was dead.

I cleaned it by using dips in boiling peroxide & scraping with a tooth pic, gave it a final swipe with olive oil & she;s good to go.

HH & All the best in 2013,
Roger

Congrats on the coin and the ability to dig. We are pretty much frozen in except for the folks who live near the ocean. Great job on cleaning the coin up, looks nice. Congrats again.

Glad to see another NJ being posted, it does appear to be a 1787 Maris 6-D variety, a rather common variety which seems to be what most ground found are for some reason. Anyway, nice going on getting a late in the year State Copper, surprised it was a NJ and not a Conn, but I appreciate the input.

Congrats on the NJ copper. They are hard to come by in Southwestern PA, but I have found a few.

Thanks Guys!

I gotta say I like the way the peroxide & tooth pic worked on cleaning it up. I think I'll do this in the future.

HH!
