From three hunts in Baltimore City parks over the past 8 days brought me a first from Druid: an 1852 LC, never dug one there until yesterday. Got a number of firsts from Leakin since I'm a relative 'newbie' to detecting there: buttons, musketballs, lantern parts, even the mouthpiece to a KayWoodie briar pipe ( these are all native finds, nothing from any prior 'planted' hunt).

Nice finds. I drove through Druid last week visiting Johns Hopkins University. Looks like a wide open park to hunt. Congrats

Hey McD... great stuff! The ring seems very old... any idea of the age of it? Congrats, Ddf.

Thanks DDF. The ring is marked Sterling and has a Victorian look to it. I'd put it at least a hundred years old. It's the second mangled sterling ring from this site; definitely got hit by the bulldozer.

Yes, one of the City's oldest and acres to search. The area where the LC and IHC were found is particularly trashy so I slow my sweep down.

Thanks creskol! Park treasures keep coming. Amazing after so many years and so many detectorists, but I had a friend dig an 1858 trime today in the same park I was in two days ago.

Thanks Professor! Two of those hunts were solo and the other was with another detectorist. Great weather here in Baltimore to end the year.

Happy New Year, Tommy!

I keep my finds during the month in cardboard box. Once the month is over I moved them to a plastic back and store them away, so each new month is met with an empty box. Somehow the finds just keep turning up.

Great hunt McDig, that ring is very cool! I had the pleasure of hunting one of your Baltimore parks with 8Reale, it is so cool that you all have older parks to hunt most everything here is off limits.
