Couple cool things from a 50's era house last weekend. My friend just started MD so I figured he could get some experience there. He found the canadian one cent (1949) - it is bent inward and has a shank made onto the top of it. Looks like it might have been worn as a necklace. I found the gun about 5 inches down, it was giving me a very nice high tone on my AT Gold in the high 80s, but would drop as low as 00 which made me believe it was a can. I was pretty excited when I pulled it out. Found a new one on Ebay and I think it's from the 50's.
We also went to the fairgrounds to MD for a bit this weekend hoping to find some lost jewelry, but it was so trashy it was impossible to dig all the 40-44s/pop tab signals. Found $1.22 in clad though so not a complete bust.
PS: Anyone see the lastest "Diggers" episode where they supposedly found a 1916 "D" Merc? That thing was so worn it was impossible to tell, but the inspector just made out a little "D". Not sure I believe that one. (I know that show is the Devil on here).
HH!
