I found a Patent on a "Ansonia" clock company. It could very well be a part to an antique clock.

The electric iron was invented in 1882, by Howard Seeley. Seeley patented his "electric flatiron" on June 6, 1882 (U.S. Patent no. 259,054).

I also found Antique Early Victorian Red Velvet Photo Album w/ Brass Corners and Latch "Patented June 6, 1882"

It doesn't resemble yours though.
