Late 1600's, or very early 1700's intact buckle!
I found this buckle at the same place I have found many old buttons, and a couple large cents. Today I got a signal in a new area, and dug 8''. When the object was out of the hole I put the pinpointer in the pile of dirt, and waited for it to sound. After the pinpointer sounded I reached in where I heard it, and felt a solid object. When I pulled it out I noticed it was an intact buckle. I metal detected for around another 2 hours after I found this, and found nothing except for a few shotgun shells. I detected for around a total of 3 hours, and found a few jagged ornate pieces of metal, a paper thin brass heart, and this buckle.
I did research on the buckle, and it appears to be from the late 1600's, or early 1700's. Every one of my sources, even the book, A Guide to the Artifacts of Colonial America, (Page 85), supported this claim.
Thanks For Looking.
