Lead unidentified item...help!

I found this lead item in a civil war camp in west central Mississippi. One end appears uniform with a depression and (T 5)? impressed in the lead.
Any ideas?? I'm attached several angles.

Thanks. I've dug lots of bale seals but never one that looks like this. Of course, there were probably many different types. I'll see what DCMatt says too. Thanks again!
