Learning the ropes

New to the forum and looking to actually get into panning this year I live in Oakland county michigan and am trying to find a spot I can legally pan nearby before I go up north and try the manistee or somewhere in the upper peninsula. Be more than happy to meet up if anyone pans in the area.

Further down the forums is "Gold prospecting" forum in there they have gold panning, prospecting, sluicing etc.
