Leon's Bugged, but he made it :)

Hey all,,,
It been a while, but I'm back. My computer had a big bad bug in it and it's been driving me nutz-O...
Haven't even been able to get on-line with a high-speed cable connection... lol
Found a few goodies last week... Found this little gold plated locket/watch chain thingy at 5" down. It's marked on the clasp, " SG & Co. 1720". Not sure if the 1720 could be a date, or maybe just a model no. Any info on it would be greatly appreciated... Also found a 1914 Barber dime at about 7" down, the pic does not do it justice... Also found 4, or 5 wheaties...Hope your all doing ok, and finding some goodies. I'll have to try to catch back up on the forum,,, again... Switching over to Yahoo DSL tonight, after I re-format my drive, which will probably take half the night...
Good luck & Happy hunting~

That chain and locket is nice Leon. So is the dime. I was wondering were you have been for a minute. I had the same thing happen to me about a year ago. I was off line for like a month or 2. Had to get a whole new hard drive and didn't have the extra money for it when it blew up.

Glad your back up and running.

Hey Leon, nice finds. I believe that chain would be used on a mans dress suit. Probably from the early part of the 1900's. It would hang like a watch chain. The T part would go through a button hole and would allow for the locket or charm to hang down. Hope that helps. Congrats...Lance

Good stuff!

You know, I used to be big in to computers for a few years, and have around 4 in the tool shed. Whenever I have a part go bad, I just go rip it off one of the others. Its like a car junkyard, just with computer parts. lol

Re: Leon's Bugged, but he made it :)

Thanks again all,,,
I hope I can get this posted before my computer does something else it's not supposed to. Theses things are great when they run right but when it gets a little out of whack, look out... I think we're getting close... ;D

Yep, thanks Lance, I believe your right on the money. I haven't been able to do a search on the," SG & Co. " maybe after posting I can see what I can find out about them...

cryptodave,,, I know exactally what ya mean. I've had this computer for just over a year, and haven't really had any problems until lately, but there for a while it was just a $1400 dollar paper weight... ;D

I haven't been back out to do any hunting, but it rained tonight, so I'm hoping to get out in the morning for some deepies...
Good luck & Happy hunting~
