literally I found a cobblers last. found just a bit deeper than the hammer head. I'd say that pretty well confirms the hammer was a cobblers, also found 3 more cutlass handles. 2 have what appears to be the date 1794 cast into them although this could just be a different board of ordinance number like the ones with 133 on them. also found 1961,1968,1976 pennies, a broken horseshoe,a brass thingy,a brass ring,9mm shell casing,a plastic cone from an outboard, and of course 5lbs of sinkers one has a "K" cast into it. also found a very odd iron piece that will need cleaning.

happy hunting to all.

Very nice. that old wreck is gonna just keep on producing for you. I love the cutlass handles you keep finding. What is the piece that looks like a shoe? i have seen one before somewhere...

the shoe shaped artifact is a cobblers last, the rectangular hole on the top was made to fit an iron rod so the cobbler could invert a shoe on it to nail down a heel or make repairs.
