lets see some bone stuff

Here's some pics of a bunch of my Bone and Antler pieces. This includes Awls, Beads, Fish Hooks, Flutes, Deer Toe Tinklers, Needles, etc. It does take certain soil conditions for these to survive. It my area I am told the high content on Mussell Shell helps preserve the Bone and Antler pieces from deteriorating.

Thanks grim looks like that will do it.wow what are the timelines on that stuff.Do you see any of the shell in the soil.I'm basing my opinion on it not being bone by its condition.Looking at some of your finds I might have to rethink this. There are parts of this site that have been dozed. So I go in and out of disturbed ground.Thankyou for your help.Might have to go to the college for help.hopefully not.

The Bone and Shell on this site, which is Ft Ancient and runs from 950 to 1650 AD, is everywhere. The Shell is so prevalent that the ground looks like like it has white specks everywhere you look.

Here are a few pics of one of the sites I hunt and all the white specks you see are pieces of Shell. In the last pic that is a large piece right above the Antler piece and all the little white spots are Shell.

Never found art on bone before.

Here are some bone artifacts from my site. OHIO finds. Beads with rocks. And a awl that I found broken. I find more antler artifacts as it is more durable! Nice artifacts Steve/Gator/Tom. "Bone Collectors".
