From the land of the Bluenose.....breakfast in bed, shopping, a drive and a trip to Tim's paved the way for a late afternoon dig. Wasn't planning to go out today but the weather was great and Marie had things to do.

Had been talking to a newbie on the phone earlier in the day and decided to follow in his foot steps and do a a local park. Upon arrival noted that the beach area was full of holes that had not been filled in. Recall mentioning to the fellow who brought a Garrett that even on beached fill in those holes so I took up the cause and filled in a few of them as I dug my own holes popping a tad of coppers in the process.

This photo doesn't do justice as I had quite the air show going on overhead as the ospreys were diving for fish.

Hit a ring just up from the beach but not sure at this point if it is silver but it did pass the magnet test. Did put a nice ding it in digging it up.

Approaching the slide and climbing area of the park I noticed red things scattered on the ground and picked them up. Um.........think someone had a Kinder Surprise candy and threw this bouy away before Dr. Frankenstin gave it life!

Hey Leslie
thanks for sharing the neat story. I've seen places where the holes were left unfilled... it gives everyone in the MDing hobby a black eye... thanks for taking the time to fill a portion of the holes.

Every hobby seems to have an appropriate response to Being in the hobby. Maybe the guy you talked to just did not know or understand... or it was someone else altogether that left the holes unfilled.

That is why mentoring is important in all hobbies.
