Hi, I've been experimenting with various cleaning methods, and have used "Simple Green" which is a limescale remover. The results so far are mixed. It does a great job on brass/copper although it leads to a somewhat "mottled" appearance (is that from the limeaway or is it a feature of brass?).

Also seems to do a decent job on silver, or at least tin (not sure what the attached name plate is made of). The included 1946 dime though, didn't change much at all. It wrecks other metals, as in the token below. It seems quite corrosive to certain metals, so use with caution. But if wanting to clean nonvaluable finds, just to see markings/details better or shine some copper/brass up, works well. I also cleaned a lot of shell casings, but don't have a camera and the scanner is too thin to picture them. But it works great on them.

Didn't think to scan "before" pics so sorry for that. But the name plate and the copper disc were both extremely dark and dull prior to dipping them. Dipped all of the included for about 20 hours. Some metals see big changes in only an hour, so if you use it keep an eye on the stuff and pull things out to check periodically.
