Finally got around to looking through all my boxes from the foreclosure dig 2 weeks ago. Found a large box of Vintage train tracks and was wondering if the Train experts here would be willing to give some insight on the value of this lot. Please note I plan to have a garage sale on Friday & Saturday and would prefer to sell it as a large lot to one buyer. Here is what I have.
23 pieces of straight track American Flyer, unknown gage.
30 pieces of curved track American Flyer, u...nknown gage
American Flyer Track Switch ‪#‎4464x2‬
Lionel Standard Switch #220, not illuminated , the lionel co., ny.
Green Lionel Crossing #20
Black Lionel Crossing #
Box of Misc parts
Blue U.S. Mailbox, paint is in rough condition.
Three railroad crossings, not marked
Thank you

I believe that everything that you have is called Prewar, meaning it was made before WWII.

I think the most valuable item is the lamp post with an incorrect bulb.

RARE Prewar Railroad Train Street Light Lionel American Flyer O Standard Scale | eBay

Someone will want that as a parts base. I bet reproduction parts are made for those.

The mailboxes are interesting. Could be a hard to find accessory, or a piece of junk. Certain that it is prewar too.

I can't tell if your stuff is Standard gauge or O gauge. How wide is the track?

The box has track clips, and an O gauge power connector. Not worth much.

I don't believe that you have a great deal of value...but what do I know? I know postwar Lionel, and some about prewar, but I am no expert. I've been surprised more than once.

Pull the mailboxes out, and the lamp. I'd guess you could mark it $20....but YMMV.

Clovis97, Thank you for your information on the train tracks. They are 2 inches wide and 14 inches long. Here are some better pics of the three lampposts. Im going to ebay those 3 plus the mailbox as they seem to have the most value and are small enough to be easily shipped. Woud .50-$1 per track and maybe $10-$20 for the big crossings be a reasonable Garage sale prices?(They do look like O gauge 3 rail track) I have limited time to do research as the sale is tomorrow, convinced my mom to help out as there is just way too much stuff for one person to handle....

Completed auction prices for O gage pre war stuff varies, based on condition and whether its been tested or not. I have no way to test this stuff. My cost was Nil so everything is pure profit...

Definitely sell the accessories separately. That is your money.

I think that $10 each for the crossings is way too high. You'd be lucky to get $5 each. The Flyer switches are missing the covers, meaning that they are parts value only.

A train guy can buy almost pristine crossings at train shows for less than $5 each. But then again, you might get lucky and get a buyer who doesn't know squat, but thinks that because it says "Lionel", they are going to make a fortune on ebay with this stuff.

I get 40 to 50 cents a stick for O gauge track if it is clean and bright, usable track. I bundle it up at the flea market into stacks of 10 sticks, and mark it $4-$5 each, but I have a built up client base of train guys too.

As with everything I post, YMMV.

When you list the accessories on ebay, make sure you list them under Lionel Prewar, 1901-1942.
