Lippincott Road is one of Death Valleys most notorious back country 4x4 roads . Starting at the southern end of the " Racetrack " it runs 7 miles and drops 2500' to the Saline Valley below . The first 2 miles are " white knuckle , make your butt pucker up , Oh my God what am I doing here ! " Thoughts will be running through your head like " That is not a road ! Its a pile of rocks ! If my tire goes 4 more inches that way I am going to die ! How many extra underwear did I bring ? " But after that it is smooth trailing and you will be treated to some spectacular views of the Inyo Mountains and the Saline Valley below . And you will also have the knowledge that you have done something that 99.9% of the people on Earth are not dumb enough to do ! Thanks a heap for coming along ! Hope you had a good time ! Hoss
