So my local CC had an auction last nite, there was only one piece that got my blood flowing...
An 1893 Colombian Exhibition elongated cent, minimum bid $7
Being the “Holy Grail” of squished pennies, I was all in on this one.....
So I grabbed my loupe, gave it a looksy...... the IHP’s date was 1907!

So I called out as being a fantasy piece, the auctioneer advertised it as such....
The guy who consigned it ate it.

Glad I checked or I woulda been pissed.

Check on Dozer's posts in the CRH'ing section (it might have been here in the Coins section). But he has acquired a rather large collection and part of it was an elongated from the Columbian Expo. I collect elongated cents also.

Just went searching and it was a comment on another thread that Dozer stated he had one. Still no pictures on the thread. Dozer was under the weather for some time. Hopefully, he sees this and digs it out and takes some pictures.

I bought a collection of Old Pins, and in the set was a 1932 Los Angeles Olympic Elongated Cent. I'd better pull it and check the date of the coin...

Any interest?
