I wrote a long time ago, I substitute a nice little wolf.romano celtic fibula 2-3 century.

Yeap, we know thats a great find. These types of Roman Animal fibula are European & only turn up rarely here, if imported. Our types are more 'plate like', unlike your more solidly cast one. Its a lovely example & highly collectable as well - CONGRATS

I would say its in the large cat family, rather than wolf.

There is an example the same as yours in my book, its was found in France & is 2nd C AD, however, it doesn't detail the animal type. So my guess is jaguar or leopard.

Great find!! It actually looks like a wiener dog (dachshund). Short legs and long body...the head looks like a dachshund also.
Wonder if those dogs existed back then?
