Got lucky and found this Walker half dollar in the redwood bark chips outside of a local elementary school fence line, underneath a plastic moisture barrier. Not much else so I moved onto my second location. I decided to detect on post where I work. There are several 1950's era barracks that are slated for destruction. I started at a small park across from these barracks. The soil is very rocky and nearly all coins were less than 4 inches deep. I found several 1950's wheatie's and this 1964-D Washington. I ended my day with 82 pennies from the 60's-very early 70's. 25 clad dimes, 5 nickels, 4 clad quarters and 8 Wheaties. I will continue with this silver recovery mission tomorrow. Silver FTY#24, 25
