I have always wanted a long handles scoop and have thought about making one for a quite some time, usally if it can be made from metal I can make it, so this is my first project of an all Aluminum long handle scoop, one is 6" on the inside and is 14" long and the other is 5 1/4" on the inside and is only 12" long. 100% handmade and Tig welded together. This is the 1st set of pics should have the handle and the back plate on by tonight or tomorrow. Thanks For looking

3/4" I tested a womens wedding band and it didnt fall through the hole so I figured that was good, I wanted big holes so the sand would sift easier.

those are real nice and look heavy duty, smaller holes gets my vote too, would love to try one if price is good.

Nice scoop! One thing to keep in mind though, 3/4" holes will not hold dimes.

Thanks bud I like your tools as well you do an awsome job, I realized that a dime would fall through after the fact but I am more looking in the water and wanting the gold and silver more than anything, so its all cool.

You can make a metal insert using the same stuff you used for the scoop that has smaller holes (1/4" 3/8", 1/2"). I use hardware cloth (1/4", 1/2") as an insert held in by pop rivets and fender washers. I have been using inserts for many years, they work fine and can be changed out to suit the hunting conditions. Joe
