This is the first year that I have actually searched for higher end glass and pottery, I am surprised with what purchases have been made with just a little knowledge and where and how to look for these pieces. With a ton of studying and some heads up from TNET. Thanks again to the regular posters on here, I thank you! Just a few pics of items from the last couple weeks.

I really like the little airplane, too. Cool piece. And I would have bought the Marlboro ashtray if the price was right.

When I started buying and selling stuff, one of the first things I bought were several pieces of Capodimonte ceramic like your flower basket. That stuff will sell but it is SO fragile and it can be very difficult to detect chips and cracks. I usually stay away from pieces like that these days.

Nice finds. The capodimonte piece is nice. Problem with them is you have to go over them with a fine tooth comb. They chips and crack just looking at them. I do not sell them online for the simple fact is they damage to easy. It would be simple for a buyer to get it and damage it unpacking it then wanting a refund. All my capodimonte gets taken to auction houses.

I agree with the capodimonte. I usually avoid it. I will say that you should check all glass and pottery objects with a fine toothed comb. Especially if the lighting is bad. A good sized magnifying glass is best for this versus a small loupe, for me anyway. Buy then, i'm half blind anyway.

Thanks everyone!

Tattooedmomma, sorry the Catherin Holme bowl is already listed on the bay. Ends on sunday I think.
This is the first one I have found and realized what I was looking at. GS find.

Diggumup, thanks! The dolphin and plane are Swarovski. The dolphin was overlooked at an estate sale and if I didn't have my loop I would have never saw the teeny little swan on the bottom. The plane I picked up just yesterday at a GW for .77 and is already gathering watchers. The Romeo and Juliette is Orrefors. Really neat and I wish I could keep some of this but need to keep the cash flowing.

The house is a Heather Minc piece, a tea light house or you can put a small lamp inside, it is missing the base plate which looks like a leaf. Oops.

That Capodimonte is scary to touch, this is in perfect condition but is so delicate it "sings" if you so much as pet a leaf.

Agree on looking over everything under magnification, a little chip pretty much ruins any chance of making money on it.

I have seen many pieces of Capodimonte over the years especially at estate sales. Often these pieces have been sitting on a shelf gathering dust for many years. Cleaning them without causing damage can be a real challenge - which is another reason to avoid them.

I just found a photo of the same piece you have at an estate sale down here tomorrow, lol.-

Amazing coincidence! I have been looking for the leaf base for mine. Although it won't be worth it as I have discovered my dragonfly is missing his tail. LOL I didn't realize it until I looked at your picture and was making a listing for mine. Dang!

The artist is Heather Goldminc, I messed up the name previously...
