Brand new here and visiting NW Washington. I have read that the South fork of the Nooksack might be a good spot for this newbie to dip their pan and sluice! Please help me out! Thank you!
The gravel bar just upstream from the Saxon bridge is a good place to try and then upstream a 1/2 mile or so from the gate at the fish hatchery. Unfortunately with spring melt beginning they are mostly underwater right now and the river yo yo's a lot on these warmer days. There's another public spot right in Acme by the bridge, but I've never tried there.
