I'm hoping to get some info on these buttons. I've given up on the net.

No.1 is an eagle I button. I have learned that it's militia, maybe pre1821? Gilt back with 16 stars, eight inside, 8 outside.

No.2 is a gilt British crown button. Haven't seen this construction technique.

No. 3 is a pewter button with crossed something. Cannons?

Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks and HH!, Kevin

The first button looks to be a Union Infantry Button, one piece.
The others I am not sure about but I know that someone will ID later.
Very nice finds

The first button is Not a "Union" button. It is not even CW! It is Pre-CW.

Alberts lists it as "Infantry; 1-piece convex, plated" "A circle of eight six-pointed stars and an inner circle of eight five-pointed stars rm; 20 mm. RV 5"

Number on the button is GI 80 A2

Big thanks for that reference BB. Does the book say anything about when, where it was made?

It doesn't, but it is not listed with the CW buttons. It is listed before them. Most buttons of that style were 1820-40ish. I'm sure someone will be able to help with the other two. I'm still looking for the (British?) one.
